TAMPA, FL — In a cautionary tale for those who seek exotic house-cleaning services over the Internet, a nude maid stole $40,000 worth of jewelry Friday from a home in Cheval, Tampa's premier gated community, according to the St. Petersburg Times.
The 20-something maid was paid $100 an hour to clean the four-bedroom, three-bath house in the buff while the 50-year-old man watched, but evidently not closely enough, the story stated.
After the man's wife returned home from a vacation and discovered her jewelry missing, the man told Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies that he had left the maid alone in the bedroom for a "short while," the story noted.
